I didn’t know at first, but dahlias are Mexico’s national flower. There are dwarf and big types. Only one from three I got from seed survived and at this point looks it will make it. Still the flower color is an enigma to me. Until it flowers I’ll know it because the seed envelope contains mixed color seeds.

They didn’t like to be transplanted very early, that’s why the others died. They grow strong in full sun tough.

Occasionally the caterpillars seem to love eating the plant leaves, so if you find one kill it!, or it will be back to keep munching on you plant.

Two weeks after that vicious attack, the plant keeps booming.
